TextSpec.setColor(value)

Specifies the text color. The corresponding “getter” function is getColor().

Parameter

value

A java.awt.Color object

Example

Chart Component Script
dataset = [["State", "Quantity"], ["NJ", 200], ["NY", 300]]; (1)
graph = new EGraph();
var elem = new IntervalElement("State", "Quantity");
var titlespec = new TitleSpec();
var textspec = new TextSpec(); (2)
textspec.setColor(java.awt.Color(0xff0000)); (3)
titlespec.setLabel("X Title");
titlespec.setTextSpec(textspec); (4)
graph.setXTitleSpec(titlespec);
graph.addElement(elem);
1 See dataset to use a data block instead of an array literal.
2 Create the TextSpec object.
3 Use setColor() to assign the color to the TextSpec.
4 Use TitleSpec.setTextSpec(spec) to assign the TextSpec to the TitleSpec.

TitleSpecsetTextSpec 1

Script that modifies the graph or dataset properties should be placed on the Chart component itself. See Add Component Script for more information. This script has access to the Chart data and Chart API methods. Scripted Charts are not good candidates for user-modification, so you should deselect ‘Enable Ad Hoc Editing’ in the Chart Properties dialog box.

To change the property on a Chart that was previously created with the Chart Editor, use “getter” methods such as EGraph.getXTitleSpec() ① and TitleSpec.getTextSpec() ② to obtain a handle to the desired TitleSpec and TextSpec. For example:

var titlespec = graph.getXTitleSpec(); (1)
var textspec = titlespec.getTextSpec(); (2)
// Compact syntax: var textspec = graph.getXTitleSpec().getTextSpec();

textspec.setColor(java.awt.Color(0xff0000));
